About Katie

Welcome, and thank you for being here,

I’m Katie, the creator behind DinkyKt’s EDS Diaries and World of Dinky. I live in the South Lakes of Cumbria with my family and my beautiful cat, Pixie. I’m now 40 and have spent over a decade raising awareness about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), after receiving my Classical EDS diagnosis.

I’ve lived with symptoms since I was born — stretchy skin, extremely floppy joints, early physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and a long journey to understanding my condition. Growing up with cEDS has shaped so much of who I am, and my mission has always been to make sure nobody living with a disability ever feels alone or unheard.

I’m a fun, loving, creative soul who adores music, crafting, writing, journaling, photography, videography, old-school boybands, dark lippies, cosy blankets, and spending time with my adorable niece, Ciara. My motto in life is simple:

“Expect the worst and hope for the best.”

Despite the challenges of a rare, complicated multi-systemic condition, I always try to stay positive and make the most of life. Some days are tough, but there is always something worth smiling for — and if you’ve followed my content for a while, you’ll know I love sharing those moments.

I began blogging many years ago and eventually launched two YouTube channels:

  • World of Dinky – a mix of lifestyle, creativity, adventures, and the things that bring me joy.
  • DinkyKt’s EDS Diaries – dedicated to EDS awareness, chronic illness honesty, disability inclusion, and day-to-day life as a zebra.

My goal is simple:

To create a space where people feel supported, informed, included, and inspired.

Whether I’m sharing make-up looks, vlogs, reviews, personal experiences, or awareness videos, everything I create comes from the heart.

Thank you for being a part of my world.

Stay strong, stay kind, and never lose your sparkle.

Katie xx
